Giving Tuesday: give more than money — donate your bras!

I love the idea of Giving Tuesday. In the holiday season that is so much about spending money, giving and receiving gifts, and indulgence, taking time to do something good - to give back - is so special. (Not sure what #givingtuesday is or what it means to you? Read more about it here.)

This year, I want to help women who are less fortunate than me. I have been so lucky to be pregnant twice and to have the means to buy (lots) of new bras as my body changed. Now that I am done having children and my body is finding its new shape and size, I can hardly believe I used to fill my pregnancy and nursing bras! So, as a gift to other women, and also to myself (a cleaner closet!), I’m donating my old bras to I Support The Girls.

This organization collects and distributes essential items including bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products allowing women experiencing homelessness, impoverishment or distress to stand tall with dignity.

If you have been through pregnancy/nursing or have recently lost weight (high-five to you!) and have bras that you no longer use, please join me in donating. I will collect bras from women located in the North County of San Diego (contact me to arrange pick up). For those living elsewhere, there are I Support The Girls affiliate locations across the US or you can mail your bras directly (postal address here).

We all deserve to stand tall with dignity and I hope you will join me this Giving Tuesday.

P.S. If you don’t have bras to to donate, you can donate money too!
