Aussie brands I’m loving right now

Hot Aussie Brands.png

You may or may not know that I spent most of my 20s living in Sydney, Australia. I snagged an Australian husband and eventually brought him back to California with me. During my time in Sydney, I fell in love with more than just a boy — I fell in love with Australian fashion.

While not that different than California casual, Aussies love to dress up and although the workplace culture there is increasingly casual, it is still dressier than California. In Sydney, I learned to wear dresses, skirts and beautiful fabrics at all hours, in all weather and for all purposes. I’ve tried to preserve some of this style in my return to California, but jeans are increasingly my go-to look (plus these days, I’m working at home and with the kids, so the silk and dry clean only pieces of my Sydney life are less practical).

I’m still delighted when I discover Australian brands that have made it stateside. Today I’m sharing some of my current favorites (or favourites, for all you Aussies). The brands below are available in the US (check out the Rolla Jeans through Amazon - amazing!) and the website BNKR enables US-based consumers to buy Australian brands that don’t ship here themselves - so cool.

I hope you’ll enjoy this little taste of my second home!

  • Rolla Jeans - these jeans are SO cute and SO comfortable, plus they are available on Amazon. I love the wide leg and variety of washes. Got get yourself a pair!

  • Faithfull the Brand - it is currently spring, going into summer, in the Southern Hemisphere. The dresses, linen pants and skirts currently available from this brand are amazing. Buy a beautiful skirt to take you from the office to after-work drinks!

  • Seafolly - I love me a bathing suit. And given our beach lifestyle in San Diego, it is not unusual to wear bathing suits well into autumn. I bought Seafolly suits when I lived in Sydney and in my hunt for a good suit post-baby, I found myself back at Seafolly. These suits are polished, well made and so so chic.

  • Bassike - I discovered this brand on a recent trip to Sydney and now I’m obsessed with their organic jersey collection. While these pieces seem like an investment for a t-shirt, the price per wear is unbelievable. They are so easy to wash and wear really well (I wear both of mine at least once a week). Plus you can outfit the whole family with this quality brand - win/win!
