Well friends, it looks like we might be living this #stayhome life for a while yet. If you’re tired of wearing the same clothes on video calls but don’t want to buy new clothes during this uncertain time, this post is for you!

In this post, I’m sharing four ways to wear the same top but make it look different using accessories and hair styling. You could also wear different make-up (lipstick, smokey eye, etc) but for me, keeping make-up simple even for video calls right now feels more authentic.

One of the hardest (or easiest?) parts about video calls is that your top is all that really shows. While this means having a full head to toe look is less important, it also means that wearing a plain top everyday can get boring. I like to wear a top with visual interest - a pattern, ruffles, lace, collar, etc. I chose a white lace top to show you here because it adds visual interest with very little effort and can still act as a canvas for different looks.

Top tips for wearing the same top four different ways (left to right):

  1. Wear statement earrings + style your hair to show off your earrings -- ladies, this one is SO easy. Pick a pair of hoops or other statement earrings that you love and tuck your hair behind one ear. DONE! This look is classic, professional and chic.

  2. Wear a statement necklace + put your hair up -- for me, this look could border on too fancy for work at home video calls, so the key here is to not worry about everything looking perfectly polished. Your top knot or bun doesn’t have to be perfect, keep your makeup light. Let the necklace shine!

  3. Wear a scarf or headband -- this is a great look if you love headbands and/or for days that your hair is dirty (full disclosure, my hair is three days dirty in all of these photos!). You know I love a silk scarf and it makes a cute headband -- I especially love the tie at the back. I like the pop of color that the blue adds to the white top too. Again, chic and easy!

  4. Layer your necklaces + casual hair -- if I could do beach waves with my hair, this would be the look (my hair is stick straight and it refuses to hold a curl). The main point of this look is to look and feel effortless. The layered necklaces add polish and the rest of the look is simple - true to #stayhome life but with a little effort.

Voila! So easy and so simple. I hope this inspires you to wear what’s in your wardrobe! Happy video calling!
