Four ways with a midi dress for spring or autumn

I’m a total dress person. I know not everyone is, but I love a dress. My favorite length is midi because it is totally functional for a busy life — whether I’m with the kids or working with a client — I can move around without fear of showing too much.

I recently discovered the Merrick White Collection and nabbed a midi dress during their end of summer sale. This dress is insanely comfortable, in addition to being really cute. Plus, it is really versatile with the removable belt and pockets (you know when a dress is designed by a woman because it has pockets!).

There are endless ways to wear a dress like this one, but I’m keeping it to four looks today…

1. Sporty / #momlife — a dress + sneakers is a go-to for me these days. The animal print sneakers elevate this look and the gold accessories tie everything together. I love a lightweight cardigan and this outfit looks good with or without the cardigan.

2. Western — a denim shirt is the perfect piece for transitional seasons. I love tying it in the front to create more of a waistline. I have the belt on under the shirt, just in case I get warm and want to lose the top layer. With the silver booties, this look would be cute for a date night, a work day or something in between!

3. Work — we all know how tan flats elongate your legs. Adding the tan belt is a fun way to make this look more dressy. I would wear this look to work (even for a day at home!) and out to lunch with a friend!

4. Ladylike — the olive green goes perfectly with a dusty rose and/or maroon. Layering a sweater over a dress is a great way to improve your price per wear and this dress is so easy to layer! I love the pink accents without being too matched and the belt creates shape and ties everything together.
