Four looks with a layered dress

Spring and autumn. Two seasons with unpredictable weather that are perfect for maximizing your summer and winter pieces. My favorite pieces to wear in the shoulder seasons are dresses. It's so easy to layer over or under dresses to create new looks and ensure you’re getting the most out of your wardrobe.

Autumn is a great time to add layers to dresses. Pictured below is a denim midi dress that is a bit too warm for the peak of summer, but is great for both spring and autumn. I love adding a white tee under this dress because it is low cut, especially for moving around with small kids all day long. Admittedly, I don’t wear this white tee with too much else, because of the tighter fit that is needed to wear under the dress, but it could definitely be worn under other layers in the winter (e.g. a sweater).

I love the different looks that can be created with this dress - it is basically a blank canvas. I’ve kept these looks simple to show that not a lot of accessories are required to change the style of the look. For instance, from sporty to romantic only requires a shoe change and a headband (or scarf in this case) - so easy! And from preppy to romantic, just tie the scarf differently and change your hair. What could be easier?!

Hats are a whole different post, but I do love the hat + cardigan + booties look with this dress. Just as the weather turns cold, this look offers you a day-to-night, easy option that looks amazing.
